| Synopsis: To outside eyes, the Malone
family appears to have an idyllic life. But their outward happiness
masks a very different reality - a family that is reeling, each
member in his own way, from a loss they have yet to confront.
Fawcett stars as Lily Malone, a mother grappling with depression and
guilt over the recent loss of her infant son. Lily´s husband
(Carradine), unable to break through his wife´s protective shell, is
drifting away and their 12-year-old daughter (Pill) is left to deal
with the death of her brother on her own.
Just as the family begins to lose hope of ever regaining a sense
of normalcy, an abandoned baby girl named Sophie arrives on their
doorstep. Despite initial misgivings, the family takes Sophie in,
and she brings happiness back to their lives. As Lily and her family
care for Sophie, they begin to face their grief and learn to love
again. | |
